Austin Event: Storytelling Through Film
In October 2010, with the support of Humanities Texas, we were able to provide educators with the opportunity to participate in a day-long training during the Austin Film Festival & Conference facilitated by film industry experts. This session was focused on providing teachers with the knowledge base to implement a screenwriting curriculum and convey to their students the elements necessary to write a short film script.
We are excited to provide another FREE training opportunity for educators focused in English Language Arts, Humanities, Media Arts, and Fine Arts who are interested in learning tips and techniques for implementing a screenwriting program in their classroom. Whether or not you attended the October training, you are invited to participate!

The topic of each session is Getting Your Students to Write a Screenplay. Each instructor will share their unique approach to screenwriting and tips and techniques for teaching these concepts in the classroom. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of this writing style and how they can translate these concepts to their students.
This training will enhance any screenwriting course you provide for your students! AFF partner schools are HIGHLY encouraged to attend – the information that will be provided is critical to understating the programs that we provide at your school.
