Austin Event: DIY Video Production for Nonprofits
The City of Austin Cultural Arts Division offers quite a few free workshops for creative professionals. If you have ever been curious about the basics of video production, especially for non-profit causes, this hands-on video workshop is definitely for you:
This 4-hour workshop teaches the basics of filmmaking. Topics covered include telling your story, copyright, production, capturing your story, editing your story, and distributing your story to the public. You will get hands-on with real equipment and actually do filming as part of a group exercise. All recommendations we make will be tailored to your specific nonprofit or cause-driven organization.
Date: September 15, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Cultural Arts Division Offices (201 E. 2nd Street)
Register here (20 max)
The DIY Video Workshop is presented by Lights. Camera. Help., a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to encouraging other nonprofit and cause-driven organizations to use film and video to tell their stories. They do this through education and volunteer match programs, screenings and an annual film festival just for nonprofit films.
